“Mmhmm,” I agreed, grinning at his display of childlike wonder. He was really like a puppy I wanted to take care of.

He laughed and lowered his eyes, averting his gaze from mine. I watched the light reflect off the water, landing in sparkling diamonds dancing in the omega’s baby blue eyes.
